The horticultural students from Salford College, Eccles campus will weed and maintain the bed at the bottom of the loopline walkway. They have also planted up some more edibles, Kale, Squash and Parsley in addition to the Onion, Lettuce, Rocket and Leeks that they have already planted in there.
This is part of the Incredible Edible Project and the public are invited to pick any of these crops for their own use.

"A short time after the Incinerator appeal was dismissed at the inquiry, Sky Properties decided to challenge the decision in the High Court. At that point, the situation became very much about Sky challenging both the Planning Inspectorate and in turn Salford City Council over the legality of the decision made at the inquiry. The Say No campaign group became an interested 3rd party without direct involvement in any court future proceedings.

Living scheme in Monton could create 120 local jobs and generate more than
£675,000 a year into the local economy through resident spending according to
developers McCarthy & Stone.
An outline application for up to 600 dwellings, marina facilities and basin, and cafe/retail structures has been posted on the Salford Planning website - Ref no. 13/63157/OUTEIA (10TH April 2013 )
Mind
in Salford in partnership with Salford Being
heard, is looking for volunteers to work in
its community based Advocacy Hub supporting people
with mental health issues, physical disabilities,
sensory impairments, over 60’s and
learning disabilities.
The city council resolved in November 2012 to withdraw its draft core strategy and begin work on a new local plan. Once it is completed, the local plan will be the main land use planning document for the city.
This is the first stage of consultation on the local plan.
