Wheels are now in motion!
Salford’s green car club is now available. Salford City is now averaging 1,000 car changing sessions per month. the scheme is racing ahead with plans for extension approved.
The car club offers low or zero emission cars which are cheaper and greener methods of travel. The scheme will be rolled out across the city, starting at East Salford and cars will be available 24/7 from dedicated bays.
The cars can be rented from as little as £3.75 per hour, meaning residents no longer need to own a vehicle and can simply rent a car for a few hours to get around the city.
The scheme is operated by Co-wheels, who wants to improve access to sustainable car use across the country. As a community interest company, all profits are recycled back into the club which means that cars can be placed in all parts of Salford in the future. Co-wheels is a Living Wage employer.
