Could you save a life? Free training on CPR and AED

Free training is being offered on CPR and AED to use the heart defibrillator fitted outside The Blue Bell pub.

Monton Village Community Association (MVCA) donated over £600 to part-fund the life saving machine with the British Heart Foundation (BHF), which can be used by members of the public to help restart the heart when someone has a cardiac arrest.

Courses are for people aged 10 - 90. For details of the course dates and times check out the Could you save a life poster or contact Liz Yeates on 07890 939282

A cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops pumping blood around the body and the victim loses consciousness almost at once. For every minute that passes without defibrillation and CPR, chances of survival decrease by around ten per cent. It’s imperative the people of Monton know both of these vital steps to help in this emergency.

Over 30,000 cardiac arrests happen outside hospital every year, but only one in ten people survive. The BHF want to create a Nation of Lifesavers in a bid to boost these shocking survival rates.
