FROPS and FRECCLES - what are they??
FROPS is short for the Friends of Patricroft Station. They are a voluntary group formed to improve the environment of Patricroft Station and to work with the rail operating companies to give a better service. There is much history attached to Patricroft Station. This group work hard to improve the station over the years, have created gardens on the Manchester platform, cleared the railway footpath, lobbied for a Sunday service, do maintenance workdays on the station regularly and work with Friends of Eccles Station to put pressure on Transport for Greater Manchester and the rail operating companies to give better services to their passengers.
Any help on maintenance days would be greatly appreciated. Workdays are on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 11.00. For more information go to www.frops.weebly.com
FRECCLES is short for Friends of Eccles Station. Again, this is a voluntary group formed to improve the environment of Eccles Station and to work with the rail operating companies to give a better service. It has now been active for over 16 years. They have transformed Eccles station a messy, unloved eyesore to a smart, pleasant station with garden and flower planters which travellers have said is the 'best on the line'.
The group has campaigned to improve services to Eccles Station and to train services. Some of these include the ticket office for the station, art history of the station displayed and cycle racks. They continue to work with Transport for Greater Manchester and the rail operating companies to give better services to their passengers.
You are invited to the FRECCLES Annual Public Meeting on Tuesday 9th November 2021 at 7.30 at 'the Bridgewater Room, Eccles Parish Church, Church Street, Eccles M30 0DL.

FRECCLES also have maintenance work days on the station. These are on the first Sunday of the month at 11.00am. Any help you can offer would be most welcome. For more information go to www.freccles.org.uk
