RHS Garden Bridgewater News

November 1, 2018

Currently the largest gardening project in Europe, Salford’s new 154 acre RHS Garden Bridgewater will  open to the public in 2020.

Named after the historic Bridgewater Canal which runs along the southern end of the site, RHS Garden Bridgewater is situated on the former estate of the First Earl of Ellesmere, who built Worsley New Hall in
the 1840s.

This once in a generation project will see the Royal Horticultural Society take inspiration from the heritage of the site and transform it into a world-class garden in the North West, while also delivering a programme of community outreach and education activities, volunteering and training.
